UK General Election – Another Election Surprise
When Theresa May called a General Election in April, this was not the result she was expecting and certainly was not her desired outcome. An agreement was reached on 26th June 2017 which will see the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) back Theresa May’s minority government. It is still very early days to say what this will mean in terms of deals, policies, government positions, etc., and much will become clearer in the coming days, weeks and months.
There have already been a large number of opinions and comments about what this result will mean for the UK economy, markets and asset classes but it is very early in the process to come to any definitive conclusions.
